Serving Young Kansas City Musicians since 2011
The Midwest Chamber Ensemble is a Kansas City-based 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the performance of Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Ensemble music of the classical tradition with the goal of providing a space for early career professionals and music students to have the opportunity to perform chamber works outside of an educational setting. The Midwest Chamber Ensemble prepares its members for future career opportunities by creating a professional environment, providing networking opportunities, and programming a wide variety of repertoire while simultaneously presenting its audience with quality concerts.
Our current and former musicians have played with ensembles such as: Boulder MahlerFest Orchestra, Kansas City Symphony, Longmont Symphony, Missouri Symphony, Omaha Symphony, Performance Santa Fe, South Dakota Symphony, Springfield Symphony, Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, Topeka Symphony, and Wichita Symphony.
They have also gone on to top music programs at schools such as: the Curtis Institute of Music, Indiana University, Northwestern University, Peabody Conservatory, Rice University, Ball State University, University of Missouri-Kansas City and the Cleveland Institute of Music.
The Midwest Chamber Ensemble has been awarded third place for the community division of The American Prize in Orchestral Performance for the 2016-17 season! For more information, visit the website of the American Prize, here.
